A Cape Girardeau woman reportedly infected with the Hepatitis C virus faces felony charges for biting a police officer's finger.
Lillie Dry, 39, was charged with first-degree felony assault of a law enforcement officer. If convicted, she could face up to life in prison.
Police said the incident happened Wednesday as the officer was trying to retrieve a bag of drugs from Dry's mouth.
Cape Girardeau County prosecutor Morley Swingle said the charge would have been a misdemeanor if not for the fact that Dry allegedly has a communicable illness.
