Police say a man stole nearly $500 of baby formula at a supermarket then led police on a brief chase on Interstate 93. James Lavoie, 37, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of theft, resisting arrest and disobeying a police officer.
Police said that the chase began at a Londonderry supermarket on Tuesday night, where Lavoie was accused of stealing baby formula. Police said he refused to stop for officers and then drove his truck at one of the officers when they tried to stop him from getting on the highway.
Police said Lavoie eventually pulled into his own driveway in Manchester. They found the baby formula inside, along with some heroin.
Police said Lavoie is suspected in connection with previous thefts and attempted thefts over the last two weeks in Concord, Hooksett, Manchester and Londonderry.
Mankind has created spectacular works of art, engineered incredibly tall buildings, designed impressive supercomputers, lived in outerspace, discovered cures for nasty diseases. As a whole, nothing can compare to human intelligence, but sometimes, humans will steal anything.
